WITH BOUNDLESS PLAINS TO SHARE…CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY

Hosting a citizenship ceremony is one of the key highlights for Cr Katrina Humphries in her role as Mayor and today she swore in 13 new Aussies at a naturalisation ceremony at Moree Plains Shire Council on Thursday 11 May 2017.

The new Australian’s hail from New Zealand, Thailand, Germany, Fiji and South Africa, and reinforces Moree Plains as a multicultural community that welcomes immigrants and refugees.

“I love the line in our National Anthem…with boundless plains to share…it captures the sentiment of our community; the black soil plains that provide so much opportunity to the friendly faces so willing to embrace diversity,” said the Mayor.

The Mayor presented the conferees with a copy of the Council’s coffee table book In Plain View and a native tree as symbols of new beginnings, new experiences and for a prosperous, happy and fruitful life in Australia.
