Event Partnership

Applications open for the Event Partnership Program

Have you got a brilliant idea for an exciting new event for the Moree Plains? Council would love to hear about it!

Building on the incredible success of last year’s inaugural Event Partnership Program which saw the delivery of events such as Run the Plains and the Young Aggies Future Focus Forum, Council is pleased to announce that the 2025 Program is open for applications, with a total of $20,000 available.

Submit your application before the deadline on Sunday 27 April 2025 at 11:59pm.

Offering Cheap Repairs

Council has been informed that there are ‘contractors’ in Moree offering cheap driveways/repairs with ‘leftover hot bitumen’ from Council work.  Residents should be very cautious if they are approached by people offering this type of work via a door-to-door approach. Council suggests that any resident approached and offered services like this collects whatever details can be safely obtained and report the matter to NSW Fair Trading by calling 13 32 20 or lodging a complaint online.

NSW homeowners should ask for a tradesperson's licence and check the business name and ABN before they agree to a contract and pay any money. Consumers can verify a tradesperson’s details online by visiting the Verify.licence website and check a business name and ABN on the Australian Business Register.
