Event Partnership

Applications open for the Event Partnership Program

Have you got a brilliant idea for an exciting new event for the Moree Plains? Council would love to hear about it!

Building on the incredible success of last year’s inaugural Event Partnership Program which saw the delivery of events such as Run the Plains and the Young Aggies Future Focus Forum, Council is pleased to announce that the 2025 Program is open for applications, with a total of $20,000 available.

Submit your application before the deadline on Sunday 27 April 2025 at 11:59pm.

Pensioners Rebate

Council Rate Rebate

The Council Rate Rebate is a fixed concession for eligible pensioners jointly funded by the NSW State Government and Local Councils.

The Rebate is not provided automatically and must be applied for with your Local Council.

Rebate Amount: 50% of all ordinary rates and charges for domestic waste management services up to a maximum of $250. Plus $87.50 each for water and sewerage charges resulting in a maximum of $425.00

Eligibility:

Centrelink and DVA Pensioners who are liable for the rates and charges on the property. Pensioners may still receive the concession even if someone else may jointly own and/or occupy the property. Other eligibility provision may apply.

People who become, or cease to be, eligible pensioners during the year will receive a concession proportionate to the number of full quarters in which they are an eligible pensioner.

Councils may provide special hardship rate relief to people who are having difficulty paying their rates, including those who are not an eligible pensioners.
