Blueberry Road Detour

We wish to advise that construction will shortly be commencing on the connection of the Newell Highway and Blueberry Road as a component of the Moree Gateway development. Some of the works that you will observe are:

• Blueberry Road will be closed at the intersection to Newell Highway.

• Road traffic along Blueberry Road and the Newell Highway will be diverted to a new road built on the development site with an intersection to Newell Highway.

• Traffic will travel through the development site from Newell Highway to Blueberry Road.

• Detour signs will be in place and speed will be limited to 40kph through the work site.

• Traffic along Newell Highway will be reduced to one lane and 40kph. There will be a high level of traffic management along the Newell Highway from the Moree Regional Airport to the intersection of Bullus Drive.

• Blueberry Road and the intersection to Newell Highway will be upgraded to a high standard roadway.

• A new entrance road will be constructed from Blueberry Road to the Moree Regional Airport.

• Construction works on Newell Highway and Blueberry Road are anticipated to be completed in December 2014.

This construction activity may cause delays when travelling along Blueberry Road and the Newell Highway. Therefore, it is suggested that residents and visitors to the Amaroo area consider an alternate route via Boston Street to Jones Avenue then to Newell Highway / Frome Street.

Construction works on Newell Highway and Blueberry Road are anticipated to be completed in December 2014.
