Council Services and Facilities Opening Hours - ANZAC Weekend

This ANZAC Day residents across the Moree Plains are encouraged to stay at home and participate in an at-home dawn service dubbed ‘Light up the Dawn’ to acknowledge Australian service men and women while abiding by social distancing restrictions.

For ANZAC Day (Saturday 25 April 2020), the following changes to services and facilities should be noted:

Unless otherwise set out below, Council’s services and facilities will operate as usual over the weekend of Saturday 25 April and Sunday 26 April. Usual services will resume on Monday 27 April as this is not a public holiday.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Over the ANZAC weekend, community members can continue to contact Council 24 hours a day on (02) 6757 3222 for our after hours’ telephone service.

WASTE SERVICES

Landfill (Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi, Terry Hie Hie and Moree Waste Management Facility)

The Shire’s landfill facilities will operate as detailed below:

ANZAC landfill hours

PUBLIC TOILETS

The public toilets located on Balo Street remain open; all other public toilets are closed, until further notice.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Tourism Moree

Tourism Moree visitor centre is closed on weekends until further notice.

Water Filling Station, Moree Depot, Tycannah Street

Council’s Depot, including the Water Filling Station, will be closed on Saturday 25 April 2020.

Ranger Services

Please contact our after hours’ service on (02) 6757 3222 to access Ranger Services or the Moree Pound.

Moree Regional Airport

Moree Regional Airport will operate as usual.

Bank Art Museum Moree

The Bank Art Museum Moree is closed until further notice.

Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre | Boomi Pool | Mungindi Pool

All Shire Pools are closed until further notice.

Library Services and Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre

The Moree Community Library, Mungindi CTC and Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre are closed until further notice.
