Inland Rail Commences Investigations in Moree
On the heels of the Federal Government’s commitment of $300 million for the Inland Rail, Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) consultants will visit the Moree region to carry out various investigations within the rail corridor.
One of Australia's largest rail projects, the Inland Rail is set to be a modern, high-standard railway running from Melbourne to Brisbane, via central-west NSW.
During September and early October, ARTC consultants will be in Moree to conduct geotechnical, cultural heritage, environmental and flooding investigations. ARTC will also be undertaking aerial photography of the rail corridor by light aircraft.
Moree Mayor Cr Katrina Humphries said “Moree Plains Shire Council is committed to help drive the Inland Rail, a nation infrastructure project that has the potential to open up inland Australia and boost regional economies significantly.”
The consultants will be working within the proposed rail corridor and are not expected to impact the community’s daily activities.
ARTC would like to encourage residents to become involved and have a say on how this national project will be developed.
Enquiries about the project should be directed to ARTC’s Community Information Line 1800 732 761 or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
