Meet Council’s New Economic Development Team 👋
Introducing Moree Plains Shire Council’s latest dynamic duo and new Economic Development team members Samita Rai and Carly Cosh. ðŸ‘
Relocating from Geelong, Victoria, Samita has joined Council as our Economic Development Coordinator. Samita comes to us with a background in Local Government, not-for-profit and the corporate sector, Samita has extensive experience that will help drive the Moree Plains Economic Development Strategy, a plan with a new vision for the local economy and aspirations for its future. Samita will also lead a variety of economic development projects and oversee Council’s grant functions.
Working at Council for seven years, Carly comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge in Local Government operations and has a strong connection to the community. As the Senior Grants and Economic Development Officer, Carly will play a pivotal role in coordinating strategic internal and external grant applications for the Shire.
With government-funded infrastructure projects, like Inland Rail and the Special Activation Precinct, on the go and exceeding $1 billion in capital investment, the Moree Plains’ economic growth is anticipated to translate into increases in population, employment and business opportunities 📈.
Driving the Economic Development Strategy, Samita and Carly will support new and existing businesses through the transition to ensure businesses take full advantage of what is to arise from the Shire’s development.
