Australia Day Public Holiday Event And Services

Friday 26 January 2024, join us at Jellicoe Park from 8.00am for the Moree Plains’ Australia Day celebrations.

As Australia Day is a national public holiday, Council would also like to advise all residents of the following changes to services and facilities on the public holiday on Friday 26 January 2024.

WASTE SERVICES

Kerbside Garbage, Recycling and Organics Collection

Residents are advised that kerbside garbage and recycling collection will operate as normal for the Australia Day Public Holiday on Friday 26 January 2024.

Landfills

Moree Waste Management Facility - 9am to 1pm
Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi, Terry Hie Hie - Closed

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre

The Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre will operate from 10am – 5pm on Friday 26 January 2024.
Saturday and Sunday – 8am to 6pm

Mungindi Municipal Pool

The Mungindi pool will operate 9am to 1pm then 2pm to 6pm.

Bank Art Museum Moree

The Bank Art Museum Moree will be closed and reopen Saturday 27 January 10am to 1pm.

Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre

The Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre will be closed Friday 26 January and reopen Monday 29 January 2024.

Gwydir Day Care and Preschool

Gwydir Day Care and Preschool will be closed on Friday 26 January 2024 and reopen Monday 29 January 2024.

Library Services

The Moree Community Library will be closed on Friday 26 January 2024 and reopen Saturday 27 January 10am to 12pm.

Moree Regional Airport

Moree Regional Airport will operate as usual.

Ranger Services

For emergencies, please contact our after-hours service on (02) 6757 3222 to access Ranger Services, the Moree Pound will be closed on Friday 26 January 2024 and reopen Monday 29 January 2024.

Tourism Moree

Tourism Moree will operate as usual, 9am to 1pm.

Water Filling Station, Moree Depot, Tycannah Street

Council’s Depot including the Water Filling Station will be closed on Friday 26 January 2024 and reopen Monday 29 January 2024.
