Home Library For Our Most Vulnerable
Moree Community Library is pleased to announce the relaunch of its free Home Library Service for community members who are highly vulnerable to COVID-19 or who would usually have difficulty visiting our library.
The Home Library Service is a free delivery service provided by Moree Community Library, enabling library items to be delivered to library members who otherwise experience challenges in visiting the library in person due to age, illness or injury, physical or sensory impairment or other factors.
Big Sky Libraries Manager, Sally Walters, has announced the service will also now focus on delivering resources to members who have limited interactions or outings as they are considered highly vulnerable for COVID-19.
“Home Library Service has been offered by Moree Community Library to members for many years, enabling people who are temporarily or permanently housebound the ability to still receive library resources”, explained Mrs Walters.
“The service is only offered to members who cannot collect items from the Library due to health reasons or caring responsibilities.
“Members wishing to use this service should contact the Moree Community Library; if eligible, you can speak with a staff member over the phone about the books, DVDs, magazines and other library items you are interested in receiving. Deliveries will be contact free and conducted at a time that is pre-arranged between library members and Moree Community Library”, said Mrs Walters.
For other Library Members not eligible for the Home Library Service, the Moree Community Library’s new Call and Collect Service might be just the way to reconnect with our Shire’s library services.
At this time, the Moree Community Library’s borrowing service (either Home Library Service or Call and Collect) is only available via phone. Members who wish to borrow a book from the library or speak with a staff member about a specific genre of interest should call (02) 6757 3374. More information about the Library’s collection can be found at www.bsl.nsw.gov.au.
