Level Two Water Restrictions for Moree With Effect From Tuesday 28 January
Due to ongoing demand on Council’s Water supply, Council wishes to advise residents of Moree that Level 2 Water Restrictions need to be implemented from 10am Tuesday 28 January until further notice.
All residents and commercial users are requested to limit their use of water and implement and odds and evens use of outside water. That is Households with odd street numbers are permitted to use their sprinklers on odd dates during these water restrictions and households with evens street numbers are permitted to use their sprinklers on even dates.
Level 2 Restrictions
• External Watering sprinklers from 6am to 9am and 7pm to 10pm on an ‘Odds and Evens’ rotation
• Washing of vehicles with buckets and/or trigger hoses ONLY
• Washing down of paved surfaces - banned
• Swimming pool filling with handheld hose only, pool covers are mandatory.
These water restrictions will apply until further notice. The hot, dry weather has seen a dramatic increase in water usage, and several separate mechanical and electrical interruptions have prevented the reservoirs from maintaining their optimum water levels.
Acting General Manager Darryl Fitzgerald would like to remind residents of the importance of water conservation practices to help avoid stricter water restrictions in Moree. Reducing water usage during peak evaporation times and being mindful of how water is used for tasks like car washing or cleaning hard surfaces can definitely have a significant impact.
If residents of Moree have any questions about these restrictions, they are encouraged to contact Council’s 24-hour hotline (02) 6757 3222.
