Board and team members from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF) met with Cr Deputy Mayor Wayne Tighe and Council’s Community, Culture and Library Manager Alisa Akins and Regional Activation Coordinator Rebecca English to have informed conversations with Council and further conversations with passionate community members as part of a two-day itinerary in the Moree Plains Shire.
The Foundation’s mission is ‘Backing Young People’ with innovative opportunities that advance their independence, social purpose and future security. Focusing on young people aged 12-30, with innovative opportunities that advance their independence, social purpose and future security.
VFFF support individuals and organisations that provide opportunities for young people to access decent work, to care for the environment, contribute to society and explore Christian faith and values. Through the ‘Backing the Future Program’ with one-off, $50,000 grants to support individuals in developing, testing and accelerating projects that benefit young people and are aligned with one of the four key program areas.
VFFF is familiar with Moree having supported several organisations and projects over the years that have contributed to the community. Examples include Beyond Empathy, Just Reinvest, Australian Schools Plus and its Fair Education program, Country Universities Centre and most recently Miyay Birray Youth Services and Warrama-Li.
We thank the Vicent Fairfax Family Foundation members for their time.
