Meeting Dates and Times

Council meetings are generally held on the first and third Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers, Level 1, The Max Centre, 30 Heber Street, Moree. Council standing committee meetings start at 12pm, with ordinary council meetings commencing at 2pm.

Extraordinary meetings are called when needed.

• Standing committee meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 12pm
• Ordinary council meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 2pm

Before each Council meeting, a Business Paper is prepared that details the items that are to be presented to a Council meeting for consideration. A Councillor’s responsibility is to make decisions on these items as well as on all areas of policy and budget priorities, including the level and extent of services and works to be provided during the year.

Decisions are determined using the majority voting system in which each Councillor has one vote. If there are an equal number of votes, the Mayor has the casting vote.
